A few hours after serving President Obama breakfast, supporter Josephine “Ann” Harris, the owner of Ann’s Place restaurant in Akron, Ohio, died suddenly this morning.
The president has already offered his condolences to Harris’ family. But Tucker Carlson’s conservative “news” site, the Daily Caller, chose to observe her passing with this tweet.
We shan’t be providing a link to the Daily Caller piece. And we hope Carlson’s editorial staff will show some remorse for this tweet.

Not The Onion of the Day: This is a screengrab from today’s Fox Nation story on President Obama’s support of gay marriage. It has since been changed to read: “Obama flip flops on gay marriage.” Still a fail.
Fmr. Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, getting in an argument with a reporter who pointed out that one of Romney’s top advisors is a lobbyist — right after the GOP candidate stated that lobbyists were not running his campaign.
“You’re out of line,” Romney’s spokesperson told the reporter later. “Save your opinions and act professionally. Don’t be argumentative with the candidate.”
People don’t like it when you catch them in a lie. Watch this republican primary battle and the 2012 election to see a lot of it. The say anything politics from the right will catch up to them in the future.
“A group of two dozen millionaires stormed Capitol Hill on Wednesday, demanding lawmakers raise their taxes.
‘We want to pay more taxes,’ said California millionaire Doug Edwards, a former marketing director for Google. ’If you’re fortunate, and you make more than a million dollars a year, you ought to pay more taxes.’
The millionaires want Congress to allow the tax cuts passed during the George W. Bush administration to expire. Some want higher taxes generally.
They planned to push lawmakers to reject any deal that the so-called super committee delivers that doesn’t raise taxes on millionaires. The 12-lawmaker panel has until next Wednesday to agree on $1.2 trillion in savings over the next 10 years or risk automatic spending cuts.”
Run, don’t walk, to read Tim Dickinson’s “How the GOP Became the Party of the Rich” at Rolling Stone.
Winners: Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Americans who love the death penalty, tax pledges.
Losers: Social Security, children of illegal immigrants, public sector employees (unless you’re in TX, then Perry says you’re okay), citizens who haven’t mastered the English language, jobless Americans, John Maynard Keynes, people like me who have health insurance thanks to the ACA, poor Americans, sanity.
